My muffin came out too dry and chewy.

If your muffin comes out too "dry" or "chewy" we recommend adding a bit more water/milk before placing the next muffin in the microwave.

  • We recommend using a 1/4th measuring cup for a more accurate measurement of water/milk. Compared to the fill line this should produce a more consistent muffin batter.

  • If you used a 1/4th measuring cup and it came out “dry” we usually recommend giving these instructions a try next.

  • You can add a smidge more water than a 1/4th measuring cup. However, please be extremely careful not to add too much water because you will end up with “muffin soup”. If you have muffin soup you will not be able to cook your batter in the microwave. You might be able to save it if you want to make it into a pancake and cook using a stovetop.

  • Swapping out water for milk or a milk alternative. This usually makes the muffins a lot more moist and fluffy.

  • If you do not want to swap out water we recommend reducing the cook time by 10-20 seconds. Chances are your microwave is heating the batter a little too quickly and you need to reduce the time.
